In 1830-32 when a majority of the Tories tried to block reform Britain seems to have come quite close to civil war. The Tories backed the continuation of **privilege** and weren't particularly bothered about its abuse.
The demands for reform were wide-ranging but came to crystallize round the issue of the reform of the House of Commons - abolishing 'rotten boroughs' (many of which had fewer than 50 voters) and extending the franchise. The House of Commons voted in favour of reform, but the Tory majority in the (unelected) House of Lords rejected it it - which provoked a crisis. In the Midlands some manufacturers provided their able-bodied adult male workers with firearms and started to give them military training! They sent threatening messages to London. All this was of course completely illegal, but the government felt powerless.
Ultimately, the crisis was resolved when King William IV accepted the advice of Earl Grey, which was to create enough Whig (liberal ) lords to swamp the Tory majority in the House of Lords.
Relations between the new middle class and the traditional, mainly landowning, lites remained difficult throughout the period c. 1830-1846, when Liberalism triumphed in Britain.

I think it came from the American Revolution. The "Patriots" were people from England who were in what is now the U.S.(some were in New England), and beleived that they no longer were citizens of England. They fought against the British in the Revolutionay War and won.
1800s
The glorious revolution was fought between the monarchy of England and its people. It was a bloodless revolution. During this time, England was trying to figure out what type of government would be best suitable for them. In the end, Parliament picked William of Orange and Mary to become king and queen of England. They had to sign a sort of a treaty allowing the Parliament to come to the monarchy every three years. The government that England had with William and Mary was constitutional monarchy which was power given to the government and the Parliament.
