∙ 14y agoIt was a let down for New France because they lost some of their land and had to give it to the British. It went down hill from there.
Because the France was not able or not willing to send aid, men and artillery in 1760 to the generals Vaudreil and Lévis to arrive at the earliest moment after St. Lawrence thawed.
As statement of fact, the British Fleet had to weight anchor for Britain in October 1759 leaving the British troops no other alternative than to live in a largely ruined town (Quebec) with limited stock of salt and provision, surrounded by a hostile
country and enemy troops, and no possibility to collect supply during the awful Canadian winter.
That was the very real factor which led to the final downfall of New France.
