Do you mean 're-impose Catholicism'? At the time of the Armada, Spain was a Catholic country and England - under Elizabeth I - was a Protestant country. However, the Armada was more about temporal power than spiritual.... it was aprt of European power-politics at the time, and about controlling the Atlantic Ocean (across which the Spanish were transporting the wealth they were stealing from the Americas). Change of religion would have been an added bonus, but wasn't the aim of the Armada.
