How did they died on Omaha?

the allied troops in Omaha beach where died from 3 major causes the first was lack of cover. the soilders had to run up a 50 meter distance to get to the beach wall where they where generaly save from fire. though 50 meters doesnt sound that bad the fact that all of the axis guns whered trained on this killing ground made it a killing ground the second object where betty land mines these mines once detonated poped up in the air for a bouta foot and detonated wounding the soilder. this made them defencless and it also cause many injuries as comrades tried to save their buddies. the last and most dangerous where the fact that the landing craft unloaded to early so instead of having to go 50 meters they had to go 20 more meters where in their heavy backpacks made them go in a walking paste.
