As far as I can tell they do not benefit in any way. In fact this would seem to only hurt the dealers and their employees. Common sense tells you that if you want to sell more vehicles you keep your dealer network that cost the auto company nothing. IMO, this is nothing more than a political move. Remember the Government is running GM & Chrysler now, and you know the great decisions they make. They have bankrupt Medicare, & Social Security. What makes anyone think they know how to run an auto company. The government now owns part of the banks, Fannie Mae, Freddy Mac, GM, & Chrysler. We are also over 12 trillion dollars in debt. See a pattern here?
