Journalists write on different topics. Science can take a part of many topics. Having an understanding of science will help a journalist understand the issues and hopefully explain them too.

Often, I feel journalists should use science more. Whether it is finance, science, politics or sports, the more a journalist knows, the better their articles can become. Also the less likely they are to pass on ridiculous news that doesn't make scientific (logical) sense. A journalist can be tricked as easily as any other educated person.

Good luck to us all. We are all affected by the "colour of the lenses" that journalists see through.

What is the relationship between Microsoft office and journalism?

As part of their work journalists will use Microsoft Office. We would particularly think of them typing their articles in Microsoft Word. However, depending on the type of journalism they are involved in, they may also make use of other applications. Journalists dealing with lots of numbers, like business or economics journalists, may make use of Excel. Many would have lists of contacts they use, and they could be kept in a database, like Access. Some journalists may have to create presentations for their reports and so they might use Powerpoint. There are lots of ways a journalist could use any of the Microsoft Office applications. As part of their work journalists will use Microsoft Office.
