copyright of music belongs to the sound recording company, composer and lyrics writer if the music is quite old (mozart etc) you can publish it, otherwise it is a copyright infringement to publish music on youtube without the owners permission The best way to avoid copyright infringement on YouTube is to post only content that is entirely your original work.
Adding music to YouTube without the permission of the copyright holder is illegal. YouTube will notify you when you upload to YouTube if you are violating someone's copyright so you can remove the file. The offending file will be deleted as will the YouTube account of someone who repeatedly ignores copyrights. (See links below)
maybe because it has really bad stuff in it or the music is copyright
It is illegal because when you watch them on YouTube or listen to them on the radio, you have not copied them to have in your possession. When you download music, it is taking the music without paying for it and without permission from the copyrighted source. You cannot take it if it has a copyright because the copyright basically shows that it belongs to them. When you download music, you are violating the copyright terms and stealing the music from them without permission. Downloading music and just listening to it on YouTube or on the radio differs because in one instance, you are stealing the music to have for yourself for who knows how long, while the other lets you listen to the music for the moment and leave it there, not taking it with you when you are done.
If you would like to upload a music video to YouTube with music that is not your own, you will need to obtain a license from the copyright holder. Many people do not do this and their videos upload without a problem, but they are subject to deletion at any time.
You cannot put commercial music created by someone else on YouTube as it breaks the copyright agreements. You agreed not to do this when you signed up for a YouTube account. YouTube uses special software that can identify music that is protected by copyright and will remove the audio from your video. If they have to keep doing this on your account you will be blocked from using YouTube. (See links below)
Instrumental music is protected by copyright, but YouTube's automated matching system may not immediately catch an unlicensed use. See YouTube's copyright polices at the link below for more information.
Some people have a belief that everything should be distributed freely. Others just want to becuase they can.
That's what the term "copyright" means, that the work in question (musical or otherwise) belongs to someone and cannot be copied without the permission of the owner (who normally wants to be paid).
No. That is copyright infringement.
Some music videos are removed due to the copyright owner claiming the video as their property and demanding the YouTube user to take down the video. Most music videos on YouTube are user-uploaded and not all of those videos have permission from the copyright holders to be uploaded and used on YouTube, which results in copyright complaints and videos getting removed.
If the record label doesn't want you to use their music on your video.
