the simplist way to get to the top motor is to simply remove the back seat by pulling out the bottom piece and unbolting the back rest. there are two bolts located at the bot…tom of the back rest and you need a 10mm socket wrench to remove them. after you have the back out just lift up the flap of insulation anf the motor is the little canister right in front of you. Open the trunk. The motor is on the shelf just beyond the back of the trunk. It can also be accessed inside the car from behind the back seat. If you cannot operate the motor to raise the top it can be forced by hand. It will be difficult and slow but you will not break anything because the the mechanism is hydraulic. With the top raised kneel on the back seat and unsnap the vinyl drip shield behind the seat. Remove the hard panel underneath to expose the motor. There is a relay mounted next to it. If the motor doesn't run the relay might be bad. It should make a clicking sound when the switch is pressed. Check fuse first of course. If the relay clicks the motor is probably bad but can be fixed. Usually what happens is the brushes inside wear down until their springs no longer apply enough pressure to make contact. Take the motor apart carefully. Make sure you don't lose the bushing on the end of the shaft. Remove the brushes, stretch the springs and reassemble. This can be done without unsoldering anything, but it's tricky. If you can replace the brushes do that. I don't know if new brushes are available.
Where can you find dexron-II atf fluid for a 92 Chrysler lebaron convertible motor or can you use a different type of fluid?
Answer . \nDexron 2 has been replaced by Dexron 3. If your Lebaron requires Dexron 2 then you can use Dexron 3. Never ever use a different type fluid than the manufacture …requires, except is a case where the fluid has been discontinued and upgraded.
If you hear the motor running when you push the button, first try filling the motor with fluid. The motor sits behind the back seat on the right side. I got to it by unsnappin…g the snaps of the well the top goes into when it is down. On the end of the motor/pump near the top is a rubber plug. Take the plug out and using a spouted plastic bottle squirt fluid into the hole until it runs out. Place a few rags under the area in which you are doing this to catch spillage. Replace plug and try the top. If it works, run it up and down a few time to work the air out of the system. If that didn't work you should be able to remove and replace the motor from same location..........
Answer There is a rubber plug on the front of the pump pull that out and fill with fluid. You need a tip like the one on a gear oil bottle to fill it.
Answer Dexron auto trans fluid.
remove back up tire in back right behind seat
You use a funnel and pour it down the dipstick hole.
On the 1993 Lebaron I believe only the 3.0L V6 engine was offeredwith the A604 4sp electronic overdrive transmission. The transmission filler tube is also the transmission dip…stick tube and is located on the "driverside" end of the engine. There should be a "T" handle dipstick with "Transmission Fluid" labeled on it. Use a small funnel and DO NOT OVER FILL THE TRANSMISSION" Make absolutely sure your arent putting the tranny fluid in the ENGINE OIL dipstick tube located at the front center of the engine!
Power steering fluid is added to the power steering fluid container. It is located under the hood of this car, with a lid stamped with 'Power Steering'.
Where is the hydraulic reservoir for 1988 Chysler Lebaron convertible top?
Convertible top hydraulic motor is located behind the back part of rear seat. First remove bottom cushion of rear seat by pulling up on front side of it. then remove two bol…ts for removal of rear cushion. Be careful not to damage the hydraulic lines when handling the motor. On top of one end of the convertible top pump is a rubber fill plug, remove it and fill it to the bottom of the fill hole. Here is the proper procedure.Rotate and raise the motor/pump assembly so the reservoir is in the up position. The rubber filler plug will be at the top. Raise the motor and pump fitting to at least 2" above the horizontal rear seat back reinforcement. Tilt the motor and pump assembly to approximately the 10 o'clock position, with the rubber filler plug still at the top. CAUTION: The motor and pump assembly must remain in the current position until the rubber filler plug is reinstalled in step 7.Remove the rubber fill plug from the reservoir. Fill the hydraulic system by adding Dexron 2 Automatic Transmission Fluid to the bottom of the fill hole. CAUTION: Do not operate the top switch in the "up", closing the top, direction. With two people, activate the top switch in the "down" (opening the top) position to fully retract the cylinder rods and hold for approximately 5 seconds, until the motor and pump stalls. A percolating or gurgle sound/feeling is an indication that the procedure is working. Top off the pump with Dexron 2 and insert the filler plug.
If your talking about a motor that powers a convertible top, then... First, remove the spare tire out of the trunk, look in the far end of the trunk, where the spare tire is l…ocated, the motor will be on the right (passenger side). Disconnect the power, and ground wire, then the hydroulic lines. Pull the motor up, it is only held by plastic plugs, once removed take your new motor, and make sure it is properly filled with automatic transmisssion fluid (If your a very specific person, use Chrysler type-3 automatic transmission fluid). Wire the ground, then plug it in, place it back on the platform where the old motor was located. The motor should now function properly function correctly. If it doesn't recheck all of the directions. If it still doesn't work, check the relay swicht and it's connections, you might have to replace the relay switch.
It is behind the rear seat. It is behind the rear seat.
