That depends on which type of essay you are composing. And which format is required for that citation. There are many kinds, but you could do a simple goolgle search of APA, MLA, and Chicago style citations to figure out which one works best for your essay. You might also email your teacher to make sure the one you choose is acceptable. In nearly all of my high school work we used MLA and in almost all of my college work we used APA. Hope that helps.
