Remove all food and keep in a cold place. Best to do this when your fridge/freezer is nearly empty. Switch off at socket and leave the doors open to let the freezer defrost. You sometimes get a plastic scraper with fridge/freezers to help you scrape off the ice. If you don't have one try the one you get to scrape your windscreen on your car just don't use anything metal as you will scrape the lining - not good. Once defrosted, mop up any water and close freezer door. For the fridge, a lot of the drawers, door compartements and shelfs will come out and you can wash these in warm soapy water. You can wash out the inside of the fridge with a cloth and warm soapy water as well. My tip though is to use toothpaste. Use it like you would use a cream cleanser - put a little bit on a damp cloth and rub over the surfaces. Clean off with a clean damp cloth. Not only will it clean but it gets rid of any bad odours too!! Once it is all clean, close doors and switch back on. Good luck.
I would first take of the plug, take out all the contents of the fridge and then get a sponge like thing [whatever you use to clean dishes is fine] and put some dish washing liquid in and pat the whole inside of the refrigerator and then wash it out with a couple of paper towels. However if you are talking about the inside of a fridge then same thing with the sponge and dish soap. But you don't have to take of the plug. Just make sure not to get near the wire.
If your refrigerator was bought at a retail store it should not need to be cleaned. If it is apparent that cleaning is necessary on a new refrigerator you should exchange it for a different one. If the refrigerator is used you can apply a light scrub with minimal soap and water. Remove the racks and wash them separately in soap and water. Use very little water on the interior as the fridge contains vulnerable electric parts on its underbelly. Avoid using any harsh chemicals as your food will be in close proximity to the interior. As always, unplug all electrical appliances before attempting to clean them.
use baking soda and warm water
The safest way to clean mold from a refrigerator would be to use a solution of one part white vinegar and two parts water. Vinegar will kill the mold, cleaning it as well. Vinegar is not harmful and there will be no need to clear the food out of your refrigerator before cleaning it.
