When you clip chicken wings, many say you should only clip one otherwise, they can still fly. Clip as above and never clip where there are blood vessels. You can hold the wing toward a light source to see where the blood vessels are.
You need only to clip one wing for flight control. The last 10 feathers on a hens wings are the primary flight feathers and can be clipped roughly 2/3 down and equal to the shorter feathers on that same wing. A pair of sharp scissors and an extra pair of hands (helper) is all you need. The feathers will not bleed and this causes NO pain to the bird. They will however grow back after the next molt.
Where chickens get made into chicken wings
By breeding super chickens
Bipedal with wings, hollow bones, feathers, Diurnal avian.
Chickens can live without their heads for up to two years. Chickens do not normally look like babies... they dont have feathers or wings. So therefor, chickens do not look like headless babies. No, obviously you are not a farm gal/boy. Yes they do, because if you stand it up on its legs and twist its wings round to the front
How many pounds does each chickens weigh? If the chickens are 2 1/2 lbs each, 16 chickens = 40 lbs. If they are 3 lbs each, 13 1/3 chickens..... or if the chickens are not even in weight, you can just ad up the weight of each chicken until you get to 40 lbs.
Chickens can't fly.....
I would clip only one wing, otherwise if you clip both then they can still fly.The object is to clip one wing to make them off balance.
In fact chickens can fly but domesticators usually clip their wings to keep them on the ground. It's pigs that can't.

People. And lots more, like dogs, fox, coyote, wolf, bear ect. Just make sure you fence your chickens in. The fence should be at least 4 feet tall. And you should bury 12 inches in the ground so that no predators can get at your chickens. If you are worried about your chickens flying over their fence then you can clip their wings.
