If you're gay: Hey, Mom, Dad. You know that forbidden love that Spock has for Kirk? Well, me too.
If you're lesbian: Hey, Mom, Dad. You know that forbidden love that Marcy has for Peppermint Patty? Well, me too.
If you're bi: Hey, Mom, Dad. You know that forbidden love that Lady Gaga has for both guys and muffins? Well, me too. Edit -.- - okay so it's actually easier than you think, if you have really caring and considerate parents, they should respect your decision. If you have really religious parents who don't agree with homosexual love then plead to them how important this is to you. A good line is "humans deserve to love." and "love sees no gender" (if your bi) and "I didn't make this decision myself. Do you really think I would Just make my life harder? I feel this way and nobody will change me." tell them that it's normal and many people are homosexual , it's not going to affect them but it will make you free and happy. Tell them how lonely you are not allowed to be loving someone that your heart is attached to. But actually asking them there's many lines you could say. You could go simple- "mom/dad I'm gay/lesbian/bi." or "mom/dad Im in love with a girl/boy." "mom/dad how would you feel if I told you I was gay/lesbian/bi."
When coming out to your parents, it's important to choose a time when you feel safe and ready to have that conversation. Start by being honest and open about your feelings, and give your parents time to process the information and ask questions. Remember to communicate your needs and boundaries clearly, and be prepared for a range of reactions.
