It is not possible to convert an analog television to a digital television. However, by using a digital set top receiver, it is possible to receive digital signals and deliver them as an analog signal to an analog television.
Digital receivers are not expensive, starting at around $25 in US and £20 in the UK. They will allow all terrestrial channels to be received in the same way that a digital television will.
Cable and satellite receivers can also receive digital signals and will provide an analog output that can be used with older televisions.
With these options, there is no need to replace analog televisions right away. Remember that analog only televisions will not be HD so don't expect a sudden increase in picture quality when the digital receivers are used.
You're probably not going to be able to do much about it. Analog is analog and digital is digital. If the TV has only an analog tuner built into it, it's not going to be able to make the transition, unless of course, you can get some type of tuner adapter for it. But that kind of defeats the purpose of having a hand held TV.
You can convert it with a converter box.
The antenna can't tell if it is receiving analog or digital. They are the same. However, some antennae are 'banded' to receive a group of channels and reject others. A high band antenna in a weak signal area may not receive the low band digital channels with sufficient strength to 'lock'.
Almost all modern televisions still support analog RF signals. The input selection will usually be marked as "ATV" or "Analog Television".
Alternatives are to use the analog video output form the Sky receiver. Again, almost all televisions have a number of analog video inputs.
If the television only has HDMI inputs, then the final option is to use an analog to HDMI converter. They are available from video and television specialists and will deliver an HDMI signal to the television,
Put an digital receiver at the end of it. The antenna does not change to receive a digital signal, it is passive.
Nope.
Digital converter boxes are used to convert digital signals to analog and were required to access tv signals for all analog televisions starting in 2011. Digital Convertor boxes are widely available at local retailers such as Target, Best Buy, HH Greg, Sears, Walmart, Radio Shack and more.
"Standard-definition" (meaning 480i) Cathode-ray tube televisions are analog. CRT TV's are easily identifiable by their immense weight and the fact that their depth nearly matches their width and height. Newer, hi-def (720p, 1080i/p) televisions are almost all either lcd, plasma, or dlp, all of which are digital. for digital TV monitor shouldnot be of CRT.
Set top box is basically used to convert the digital signals broadcasted by digital signal broadcasters to analog signals, in case you wish to have your analog tv, but would like to have an access to digital channels. Digital channels definitely have better quality signals than analog and therefore you will have a better picture quality and signal quality even though you have converted the digital signals to analog.
The signal sent to the TV must be a digital signal as well.
A tv antenna and a digital tv and/or a converter box.
A digital switchover is used to convert television signals that are designed for old tvs so that they will still function on advanced digital televisions.
not possible
Buy a new digital ready tv, get a digital receiver Sky or Freeview for your analogue tv
Digital converters are used to convert an analog input into a digital current. They also have converters that covert from digital to analog. These are used for older model TVs that need to take a newer digital technology input but the tv still requires analog.
If you mean a set top digital box, then you can connect that to any tv.... otherwise..... It doesnt work that way. The digital signal is a part of the analog signal. Just screw the cable wire on to the back of your tv.
i'd say power inverters, unless there are no cigarette lighters.....
You cannot convert one to the other. HDMI is digital, and has built-in Digital Rights Management (copy protection). Component is analog and has no protection. Some upper model surround receivers can 'up convert' component to HDMI, but will not allow HDMI sources to play on a TV with only component video inputs.
One can convert an analog TV to HDTV by using a set top box or digital analog tuner converter box. One does require a HD ready TV though to be able to watch the HD channels.
The Magnavox Digital DTV Converter Box with Analog Pass-Through will allow you to digitally convert and still use your VCR.

Yes you can You can if you have another device that has a digital tuner plus the ability to convert digital to analoge, such as a set-top box, digital to analoge convert for over the air TV signals, and a DVD disk recorder with a built-in digital tuner.
That was a process put into place a few years ago to convert all analog televisions over to digital formats. This was done in affect to upgrade the current technology countrywide to deem analogs unusable.
