High Performance Computing (HPC) is a necessity in industries requiring the quick assessment and computation of massive amount of data. However, technological advancements have made it possible to convert HPC to a more accessible format, usable on a wider scale. The result has been the application of HPC in a variety of contexts, including the creation and playback of movies.
Although the possibilities are endless when HPC is combined with movie-making, interested parties continue to find the process complex and overly frustrating. Before movie-related tasks can be accomplished with the use of HPC, a movie server must be set up. Those with HPC servers such as Windows HPC will find solutions in the movie-making workflow in the form of such applications as Interactive Media Manager and other related programs. Also available are encoders, which allow rendered frame sequences to be split up and converted to a more efficient digital format. Again, this process is easy to complete with the download of applications such as the open source HPC video encoder.

This is entirely the fault of Youtube. Youtube does not host all of it's videos on a single server, but rather hundreds of different servers. If many, many people are watching a movie or the movie is 'back-ended' on a slower server, it will load much more slowly. The speed of your internet connection and the size of the movie will also have a major impact. Larger, high-quality, and longer movies will take much longer to download and play than smaller, lower-quality movies.

well, you can easily create a music server with a shoutcase or icecast server. It is a type of broadcast program that binds to a port on the server program, and the client programs use mp3 software such as winamp and open that specific location:port and it creates a "live stream" As for movies, not sure how you can live stream it but if you just throw a movie up on the net, you can make them go to the exacty URL and watch it over the intranet or internet.
