1. Press and hold the app you want to delete.
2. The apps should start to jiggle, and a black circle with a X in it should appear on the top-right corner of each app.
3. Press this X if you want to delete the app.

This will not work on my iPad the black x does not come up. And yes I did do it right im not stupid.

You hold any app for about 6 secs and it will come with crosses on the corners of all apps. Click on one to delete it :)
