You have to determine if the horn itself is broken or if it's a wiring problem. First thing, check the fuse for the horn circuit. See if it is burnt out. If it is good place it back in the fuse holder. Next is to check the horn itself. The horn is located on the front drivers side, mounted on the bumper. Get under the car and look up, you should see it.
Check all the wiring around it to make sure all the connections are good. If all the connections look good and it still doesn't work, remove the horn. Once you have it removed, connect it directly to a 12VDC source to make sure the horn is indeed dead. If at this point the horn still doesn't work, buy a replacement (install is the same as removal). If the horn does work, there is either faulty wiring or a faulty horn switch (steering wheel actuated).
The most common horn problems are either a blown fuse or a bad horn relay. Both should be located under the hood in the fuse box.
my 1985 ford crown Victoria ignition has locked up! what do i do?
check fuse then check horn relay then check horn itself last of all combo switch
go to the mecanics
check out strutmasters.com they have what you need.
Buy a new housing....not that expensive
Look for a leaking hose, water pump, or raditor find the leak and fix it.
* Remove the front bumper fascia * Unplug the horn electrical connector and remove the bracket bolt
it depends on who you buy them from and if thier used or not
You will have to determine what is wrong before you can fix it. Check the horn itself, check the horn relay, the fuse, the horn contact points in the steering wheel and wiring.
Start with a complete tune up including spark plug wires.
Pick up a tub of "Dr. Tranny Shudder Fix" it does work, and as it says on the package "instantly". I paid $6.99
