i believe he is too old for you, but if you want to get his attention you're going to have to get out of your comfort zone a little bit and try to become friends. Then you need to develop a very strong relationship as friends before it turns into the relationship you're looking for. There is however no guarantee this will work, depending on how long you've known him will be a big factor because people develop relationships over time, and if you don't take the time or take too much time, then you are in danger of the friend zone or even worse.
