well you take the distance and divide it by time.

so like if you had this chart:

Distance traveled (km) time elapsed (hours)

150 1.5

180 2

then you would take 150 and divide that by 1.5 and then take 180 and divide it by 2.

How does a car average speed differ from its instantaneous speed?

The average speed of a car is how fast it averages over a span of time. Instantaneous speed is how fast the car is moving at any given time which is measured using a real-time speedometer.

How small the speed of earth's orbit around the sun change if Earth's distance from the sun increased by 4 times?

If a planet were 4 times further away from the Sun its orbital speed would be halved. That can be deduced from Kepler's third law using an approximation based on a circular orbit. The speed is proportional to R-1/2 where R is the average radius of the orbit.

How long does it take to travel 300 miles by car?

It depends on your average speed. If the roads permit an average speed of 60mph, it would take you 5 hours. To work it out (using T=D/S): Time (hours) = 300 miles divided by average speed (mph)

What is the difference between average speed and istantaneous speed?

Instantaneous speed is your speed at a given moment in time, whereas the average speed is the rate at which something has travelled from one point to another. In practice, the average speed is calculated using the total distance travelled and dividing it by the total time spent travelling:vaverage=Δd/ΔtWhereas the instantaneous speed is the time derivative of the distance travelled:vinstantaneous=dx/dt
