How do you get your canon vixia hg21 to log and transfer on final cut express?

I filmed my footage at 24fps at mxp, or full hd, and have been able to transfer movies in the past directly onto the the program. However last night i filmed some footage of my friend's band and now it won't let me do what I've been able to do in the past. How do I fix this?
