you dont u have a limit on wireless say 10 megabites once u use that all up you drop down to dialup
Wireless is just that; it's a wireless connection to your modem or router, which works by sending information through the air, much like cell phones or radio. By that same token, it is subject to interference, and people other than yourself may be able to remotely access your Internet connection if they can get past whatever security you've set up for it. Ethernet cable on the other hand is a physical cable for sending the same information; because it is not subject to the same interference as wireless, it is more reliable. Furthermore, if you make it so that you need to physically connect with a router, you can completely prevent the above scenario of someone hacking into and using your Internet connection through wireless. However, getting that physical connection can be arduous in a household with multiple computers because you need to find a way to get the cable from those computers to the router; avoiding this one-time hassle is why many people choose to use wireless instead.
It is prevent all connected network cards sending at the same time.
Sure all you need is a router and ethernet cables or a wireless router. I recommend the ethernet cables and a wired connect for at least one of the Playstations if both is too difficult. You didn't mention the TV, but they will need different TV's if they are to be played at the same time. The set up is common with individuals that have a Xbox and a PS3 and if not played at the same time they can both be connected to the same HDTV. Many households that have a PS3 also have a PC and both can use the connection at the same time and often do.
Yes the switch is called a router and it can be wireless or wired with ethernet cables. I use my wireless router as a wired router because it also includes four ethernet cable connections in the back.
No, only one connection will work at A time on each P.C.
To have both the internet and online gaming at the same time with one ethernet connection you need to buy a network switch or a router. Basically what you are doing is splitting up the one internet connection into multiple.
If the laptop computer has a wireless adapter installed, either internally or externally, and it can communicate over that adapter to the wireless router, it is time to disconnect the Ethernet cable. The computer will only use one network path to the router at a time.
It depends on if you have a net-workable printer or not. If you have a wireless or ethernet equipt printer then you could use an wireless router that usually has 4 ethernet ports. I have my computers (six of them) hooked to an ethernet switch (and a couple connected wireless) which is hooked to a wireless router. My printer is wireless (or ethernet capable) and can be used by all my computers without doing a thing. As long as the computers AND the printer stay on the same network then they can all print. Most of my computers are Macs and I can use the "Location" feature to switch back and forth from my "internet DSL" location back to my "offline local" network. If you only have a USB printer then you could use the printer sharing feature on your computer and then it would work but you would always have to have that one computer on ALL the time. There are also USB servers that use an ethernet cable to connect to the network, you just plug the USB cable from the printer into the server and then it is plugged into the computer, ethernet switch, router, etc.
The DSi needs to connect to a wireless system to work and you should get wireless connection for your DSI because guess what? you can get on-line any time!
yes you can you have to share your internet connection with your Ethernet port and set up your firewall correctly and then you can i do it with mine all the time :) but your settingsneed to be all right. remember to share your internet connection and allow your xbox throughyour firewall.
After being on the internet ( wireless ) I get knocked of the web and have to re-connect to the internet. Can I extend the time I can be on the network ?
You have low bandwidth. There is nothing you can do, just don't use your laptop at the same time. I converted to a wired system from wireless with a 50 foot CAT 6 ethernet cable I purchased on EBAY for only $20 and no longer have a lost or difficult connection problems and the connection speeds now test way higher on the PS3 connection test.
