How do you install theme and software in Samsung SGH E250?

Install via USBHello Guys, after lot of research and tryouts we have found out how to install application

and games on your sgh e250 using a data cable rather than a blutooth dongle. This procedure

proves to be much more successful and fun.

1. Run your Java Uploader.

2. Select the game you want to install. ( remember to put the jad and jar file of the game in one folder.)

3. Enter *#52828378# on the phone to access the Java Test Menu.

4. Choose OTA type setting, choose Serial bearer OTA. Press select. (change this back to GPRS bearer OTA after all java installation.)

5. Still under Java Test Menu, Select "Serial Test".

6. Select "PPP Up".

7. Select "USB".

8. Select "Serial Download". The Java spals Screen will appear with a progress bar. After the progress bar had finished, the game will start automatically.

9. change back OTA type setting to GPRS bearer OTA after all java installations. Ensure that you do this to be able to use GPRS or EDGE features on your phone.

From personal experiences we tell you that after installation your phone may saty unstable for

a long time, though you will be able to carry out normal operations, your phone may hang and

crash sometime.This problem usually persists for 1 week post installation.After which crashes

will not take place.

Bluetooth Dongle (USB adapter) and drivers installed

Of course your phone. With bluetooth turned on.

A JAVA(.jad and .jar)archive file or game to load (If you have none, you can download from www.getjar.com)

Softick PPP gate.

Samsung XXXX midlet uploader.

Windows 2000/XP (NOT Windows Vista

Steps

Install all programs listed in the "Thing's you will need".

Enable Bluetooth on your phone and computer.

Load Softick PPP gate and click cancel on the missing USB file prompt as it is not relevant for this activity. Select the Bluetooth tab and tick all the ports.

Type in from the standby screen of your phone; *#52828378# and select OTA type setting as Serial OTA bearer.

From there, go down to Serial test and choose PPP up.

From the computer, go to My Bluetooth Places and double click on the serial port.

If you don't have a serial port: You can make one by right-clicking on the Bluetooth icon in the system tray, selecting quick connect and selecting Bluetooth serial port. Your phone should appear in a list. If not, click other and do a search for it.

Back on your phone, select Bluetooth as you will be loading your files with a Bluetooth connetion.

You will have returned to the serial test menu if all has been done right.

On the computer, load Samsung XXXX uploader and load a .jar file.

On your phone, you now need to push Serial Download.

Your phone may crash at this point. If it does, go down to the "Crashed phone section".

If your phone has not crashed, you should see a dartboard, the java logo and a small progress bar.

The game will automatically start downloading.

When the game has been downloaded, it will start automatically.

This is only if your phone has restarted. If it has not, you are in the wrong zone. Go up.

Make sure you turn off PPP from Softic as the phone is restarting. Once the phone has restated, activate PPP again and press Yes on prompts to serial connect and try again.

If it keeps crashing, try re-reading the instructions. Or your phone is not compatible with the game.

Re-enter *#52828378# and select PPP up.

Tips

Whenever you try to connect with your phone you will be prompetd to allow or disallow the connection. You will need to press YES on all prompts that come up.

You will want to change you OTA settings back to GPRS to use EDGE or GPRS or the Samsung PC suite.

Type in (*#52828378#) goto OTA bearer settings and select GPRS.

Warnings

Your phone may reset at anytime

Bluetooth runs on 2.4 GHz frequencies. This may interfere with your TV signals.

NEVER reselect PPP up unless your phone has crashed
