Bullies are basically cowards, and when you show them that you will not be intimidated they will look for easier prey they don't necessarily hate the one they pick on but rather are looking for the crowds reaction IE; laughter at your embarrassment, confrontation is almost unavoidable if you want it to end, but do it one on one. That being said really only applies to a lone bully, They tend to roam in packs now a days and draw false courage from one another ( not wanting to be embarrassed ). They will still be looking for a loner and will not generally mess with a group. Make him talk about it at home.. Teach him how to stand up for himself.. But basically let the kid talk about his day at school than remaining silent... Get in touch with his class teachers and try knowing some of his friends [assuming you're a parent/guardian] Bullying is getting out of control and is very serious in nature. Some kids will just call another student names, while others are more physical. It all boils down to the stress that it puts on the victim of bullying. In fact, it's a form of abuse! For now I would consider homeschooling or a private school if you can afford one. You can hire certain teachers to come to your home to teach your child. To make your child to continue on going to school when they are constantly bullied is extremely hard on tell the dumb kid to fight back
