Hey Mike==The tensoiner has a spring that keeps tension on the belt. Pull up on the belt and you can see which way the tensoiner has to go to remove the tension on the belt. You can generally pry it with a screw driver to get the belt off and back on. There should be a schematic on the fan shroud but if it isn't there draw a picture before you start. To change the serpentine belt on a 2003 Pontiac Bonneville, loosen the tensioner pulley and remove the old belt. The tensioner pulley is the wheel in the belt system that has a bolt through the middle in a slot that can be adjusted. Put the new belt on and tighten up the pulley.
