If your at home or some place where you're alone, just let it out for while. Then take a couple deep breaths and lie down. You can also take a cool, wet washcloth and put it on your forehead. If you're somewhere public or there's just a lot of people around, take a couple a deep breaths. To prevent tears from coming out roll your eyes in the direction of the tears. Just relax. Remember that even though you don't feel so great right now, you'll feel better soon. Hope this helps :]

ummmmmm it depends on age i guess if your talking about a new born maybe it's hungry or it needs to be changed, if your talking about a toddler then maybe it wants to play, its hungry, or it needs to be fed. But if you try all those for a toddler and it still cries maybe its just a phase. But if your talking about a child maybe its sick or something and if your talking about someone older i have no clue that's your problem but try like confurting her or let her cry.

i know its hard but you have to let go.

things happen for a reason. and most of the time us girls want to stick to a certain person. but we have to learn that we deserve better and things happen for a reason. why make your life miserable when the person you are crying for is enjoying their life?..

always remember that there are tooooo many boys in this world to be crazy for one that doesnt give a f8ck about you. cheer upp..

Here are some answers from our community:

  • Stopping to think before you react often helps.
  • Stop caring so much. I used to be a VERY emotional person, and i hated it because everyone knew when i was upset and i always looked dumb. So i just stopped caring about things so much.
  • It all depends on whats upsetting you. If its teasing you just have to ignore it or say something like 'so what if i am' or whats it to you?' if its loss of a friend or relative, you just have to be strong and think, if its a person who was bad they deserve it (but only if they are REALLY horrible) if they were nice they will go somewhere good and they wont suffer and if you don't believe anything happens after you die, then they cant be suffering can they?
  • I don't believe there is an easy answer. Certainly not an answer that can be given on a site like this that will 'cure' you.
  • There are often underlying reasons why people are emotional. Young adults/teens are often very emotional partly due to hormone changes & also experiencing new feelings that they haven't had to deal with before IE First love/loss. There can also be mental health issues & a visit to a good Psychotherapist or Doctor may be of use.
  • Some people are just 'wired' that way & it's genetic & so it's a case of learning to control certain emotions.
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is often taught to those with emotional problems along with a new approach called Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. These two psychological approaches are often abbreviated to CBT & DBT. They both teach ways of controlling thoughts & emotions, often teaching us that sometimes just accepting things that we can not control actually eases our emotional pain.
  • Emotional people often 'overthink' or over-analyze things. Learning to not do this is also a part of CBT/DBT.

Maybe try to take your mind off things by starting a new hobby like cooking or art, something you haven't really done before, and something that doesn't remind you of the person.

Alternatively you could talk to other people about the death, maybe join a church?
