Unscrew the 2 lower hinge screws. Open upper glove box. This should give you an inch of room to slide your finger into the slot between the "u" bracket. With your finger tip press down on the spring loaded lock. The box will open. Unscrew the 2 lever screws under the slotted plate then the lock and handle will fall out. Reset the lock by bending out the small point facing down close to the lock barrel. When you turn the lock with the ignition key it will clear the black spring loaded lock. It will click and sound beautiful. Straighten the point enough to clear in both directions.
how to open a glove compartment on a 2008 highlander without the key
I've a 1995 xj6 ,but where is the opening for the glove compartment? do it have one
Open the glove compartment. There is a fuse box in the back.
The cabin filter is located behind the glove compartment. If you open the glove compartment you shoudl be able to press the sides inward. This will allow the glove compartment to open all the way out. After you remove the glove compartment you will see a plastic tray that holds the filter.
open your glove compartment empty contents then pull down compartment, fuses and fuse board are behind glove compartment.
The 2000 Boxter does not have a glove box.
Open the glove compartment, look past the center of the box, attached to the dash interior. You'll see a blue plug connected to a black box.
It is very easy. You do not even have to take everything out of the glove compartment. From the inside, disconnect the strap on the left side. You will have to pull/slide off the cap first, then you can disconnect the strap. Close the glove compartment, and from underneath, take out the two screws that hold the hinges in place. Then open the glove compartment, being careful not to spill the contents. The filter is directly in front of you. There are two squeeze tabs that hold it in place, push together, slide out the tray and replace the filter. 10 minutes tops, less next time.
Open the glove compartment, gently squeeze in on both sides of the open compartment, then you can pull the whole glove box out. The air filter is behind there.
