I use AVG for anti virus and when I was reading about some of the other Downloader trojans, I found one that said AVG found it in C:\System Volume but scan after scan found the comp to be clean. I took the advice that someone listed for getting rid of it and stopping that annoying pop up.
First, if you are running XP, you need to disable your restore, then restart your comp, then once you have rebooted, enable restore again. It worked for me, no more pop ups and all scans come up with nothing!

Your "up to date" antivirus will remove it.

just run a antivirus scan.
Found a reference worth looking into: bandofgonzos.com
The spyware program 'PestPatrol' will remove it.
I think that some more info is needed like what operating system you use, have you tried to do it from a bootscan, what virus detection system do you have before this can be answered.
I had this virus and Panda online scanner removed it! pandasoftware.com
