The use of eye protection is required, if you have a drill motor, get yourself a wire brush attachment and put it in the end of the drill motor, plug the drill motor in, put your eye protection on and begin removing the foam. You may have to scrape some of the foam off from the back side of the pipe before all the foam is completely removed.

Remove the bottom hose to drain the system. Remove the top one as well and flush from the top with a brisk flow from a hose pipe.
The toilet flange is usually above the floor level. You would have to cut it off the drain pipe and cap it. How you do this depends on what type of pipe the drain is made of. Even if the drain should be below the floor level, you have to seal the drain or sewer gas will come up from the drain.
There should be a nut around the chrome pipe holding it to the brass. Loosen the nut and pull the chrome pipe out.

If it's a sink drain , best to remove the entire pipe and P trap. I then take outside and hose them out.
Drain enough of the radiator to remove the top radiator hose. Remove the hose, then the pipe that the hose connects to. The bottom end of the pipe houses the thermostat.
