I can't say for sure about the 2001, but I just changes mine on my 1999 and I had to remove the nut from the back side of the tensioner.
I read a post from someone who said they were able to remove this nut working from under the van but I had to remove the windshield wiper assembly and get at the nut by leaning waaaay over the engine. My legs hurt.
Hope this helps
You can do that by replacing the tensioner
You have to unscrew the tensioner bolt and remove the serpentine belt first, then change the pulley and replace the belt. You have to unscrew the tensioner bolt and remove the serpentine belt first, then change the pulley and replace the belt.
The belt tensioner is self-adjusting.
The belt tensioner is rotated clock wise with a 15 mm wrench or belt tool.
You can remove the old serpentine belt on your 2004 Dodge Ram by loosening the tensioner pulley. Put the new serpentine belt on and tighten it with the tensioner pulley.
Fit a new belt tensioner
The fan is electric, not belt driven. The serpentine belt is has a spring loaded tensioner. If the belt is loose, the tensioner has failed.
Yes, on a 3.3 or 3.8 the serpentine belt pulley does come off the tensioner arm but the bolt is left thread not right handed.
If your belt is mounted on the passenger side of the engine, attach a socket and breaker bar to the tensioner pulley bolt and pull the breaker bar towards the front of the vehicle to relieve tension and remove the belt.
You cannot adjust the belt tension on a 2000 dodge grand caravan. This vehicle is equipped with an automatic tensioner. If tensioner is frozen or will not hold the belt tight, it must be replaced.
No
remove the right front wheel and fender liner to access the serpentine belt and tensioner. Belt routing should be under the hood.
