In the bottom compartment there is a thin rubber Matt that needs to be removed to expose the bolts.
for the 2001 ram 1500 you just need to look under the center seat on each corner there is a bolt just remove those 4 bolts and lift the center seat and console out from truck.(seat and console are one piece)
put center console on down position and press button on side then open.
To remove the overhead console you will first need to disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. Remove the overhead screws and pull straight down on the console.
center console? air filter would be under the hood. do you mean cabin filter? No. I mean air filter. This is a Van, not a truck. Lift up the edges of the carpet around the center console and you will see the screws.
I have detailed step by step instructions, along with pictures, on how to remove your dash and center console for the 07' Dodge Ram 1500 Laramine package. These instructions are for the center, non flip down style, console. Please e-mail me at jdhoff87@yahoo.com if you want me to send the Word document to you. I knwo how it was to figure out how to do it with no instructions, so I know your hassel.
2 clips on either side of cover push forward then out
remove the two light lens be careful not to break them. then remove the two torx screws behind the lens. give a slight pull down on the front of the console to remove the two clips and you are done.
Don't bother. The new one will break soon too. Better to get an aftermarket one that clips to the front of the center console. Try Dieselmanor.com Good luck!
you have to remove the caliper to access the brake pads
From what i have heard there is a couple clips towards the front of the console. after they are removed you can slide the entire console back to release the hooks securing it to the ceiling.
i'm guessing you already know you'll need to unclip the locking clips on the sides of the center console, the tricky part is to slide your driver and passanger seats all the way back, then slide the console all the out towards the seats. at this point you should be able to lift the rear portion of the console (the end with the clips)up while leaning the front end down. lift straight up until you clear the seats then you'll probably have an easier time removing the console from the passenger side. note if you have an attachment on the front of the console, then remove the attachment first. i know it seems easy however with some patience you should have little to no problem.good luck
