TAke the knobs off and there are nuts under them that need to be removed.
The trim on either side of the radio needs to be removed This is best done with a trim removal tool Once the trim is off you will see two bolts each side of the radio Remove these and the unit is out
to remove your radio you need to remove the dash trim first... remove every screw you can find in the dash trim (plastic trim) most of the screws are on the bottom and near the ashtray the top snaps into place (try pulling downward on the trim after you remove all the screws). once you have this removed, there are 2 screws top and bottom of the radio, remove them and the radio will come out, the rest is easy.....
remove the screws holding on the trim, remove the ashtray(should slide out) then remove the trim peice, then unscre the mounting bracket. Then unscrew the radio from the bracket and unplug the wiring harness.
To remove the dash to get to the radio from a 2005 Kia Optima, begin by prying around the edge of the trim around the gear shifter. Then, remove the screws from the bottom of the dash and pry the trim away from the radio area. This will expose the radio bezel.
It ain't easy. First pop the trim off around the unit, then if you have a radio above the temp unit take the radio out and then remove the temp unit trim to expose the bulbs. The bulbs twist out and you remove them from the rear. They are a specialty bulb only available from GM. Reassemble in reverse order above.
Remove the trim panel around the radio, it just snaps in. Then there are 2 bolts that hold it in. They are 10mm. Once removed just pull the radio straight out. You may need to giggle it a bit as it is a close fit. Remove the 2 connectors and the antennae wire. You're done.
Remove ashtray and carefully pry off the surrounding trim. Also pry off the trim around the radio. You will see the screws that hold the radio in (4 i think). Unscrew and you are done.
Just use a screwdrive to pull the trim out. They are just clipped in.

you have to pop out the vents CAREFULLY and there are screws inside the vent cavity,then pop off the plastic trim under the radio and to the left of the steering wheel.
Undo the 2 screws at the bottom of the trim then pull the trim out by pulling on the heater vents at the top.
