How do you remove the rear seat cushion to replace the battery in a 2000 Buick Lesabre?
Reach down in the bite-line (where the seat cushion and the seat back meet). Pull up on the seat cushion until the cushion raises above the bottom of the seat back. Pull the seat cushion towards the front. There are two metal tabs that are hooked into the front of the seat cushion that holds it in place; unhook these by moving the cushion forward. To replace, reverse the procedure, but make sure the seatbelt recepticles are exposed before pushing the seat cushion down into the bite-line.

The battery is located under the right rear seat. There is a clamp retainer on the rear side of the battery. This is a special battery with vent tubes on each end which must b…e connected for vapor control. Battery cost $110 to $140 depending on vendor. Some OEM batteries with color window indicators do not change from green when the battery is actually bad. Be sure to have your old battery load tested before replacing.
Answer The battery for the Buick LeSabre (2000) is located under the rear seat cushion.
Remove any braces that block access. Remove the ground (neg) cable first, then positive cable. Taking a ratchet with a 12" extension and a 13 mm deep socket, remove the batte…ry hold down bolt and bracket at the bottom of the battery. Reverse the procedure; installing the ground cable last. I hope this helps you. Mark It is under the back seat on the driver's side, not under the hood. Rob You also have to remove and reconnect the hoses that vent the acid vapors to the exterior. Very important step, as you do not want these toxic gases polluting the cabin of your vehicle. The great part about the battery being under the back seat is that you can even do this procedure in the rain. The bad part about it is that you cannot stand up. You will be hunched over the whole time, and probably on your knees. Not recommended for those of us who are "larger than the average bear." This battery is very expensive. It is a 100 class battery with 770 CCA. You will not find it at Walmart. No matter where you go, you will pay at least twice as much as you would for an ordinary battery. At the GM dealer, be prepared to pay almost three times as much for the thing to be installed. I got over fairly easy. The GM dealer was going to charge me about $200 for the battery to be installed. I went to an Interstate Battery dealer at Christmas time and got an AARP discount. I paid $150 plus tax. That was $120 for the battery and $30 (1/2 hr labor) for the installation, because I was at the mercy of the shop where my battery died that day. I still saved $50 over the dealer price.
The battery is located under the rear seat cushion. To remove, place your hands in the "bite" of the rear seat-back, and the rear seat; pull the seat up and away fro…m the seat-back. The seat will come loose and the battery can be accessed. Edit: Thanks for this answer. Some observations for when I tried it: The "bite" is referring to the place where the seat and back cushions meet. Reach down in there, and give the bottom cushion a good upward yank. You'll feel and hear some snaps coming undone. You may have to pull from different places, i.e. left, right and middle, in order to get the whole seat to come up.
Answer Well I recently have taken the back seat out of my 95 presidential, adding some black suede to the interior. As for removing the bottom of the seat, u put …ur hand on the front side of the seat close to the floor and push back hard and it will pop out push it in in about the center of where some one would sit if they where back there. Do that on bothe side of the seat, the it should lift up and pull out. As for the top of the back seat u will have 2 I wanna say 18mm nuts that secure the seat belt buckles un do the nuts for those, then to ur right and left u will have 2 brackects held on by something like a nut but it's not u can use just a pair of pliars to twist those off they r just like a cheap clip to hold the brracket in place. Now after all that is done u simply lift it the top of the seat up. Now u have to put a little elbow behinde it.(if u look at the back of the seat from ur trunk u will can see the bracket at the top center of the seat.) that's why u have to lift it up, then just shimmy it out from behinde the seatbelt shoulder straps. very easy process, takes about 10 mins for the average person like myself to pull out.
Remove the bezel around the door handle (pops out) disconnect power lock connector Remove the power window switch (pry up towards front then slide towards front) disco…nnect connector Remove reflector (pops out) remove 7mm nut Stick fingers between door and panel and pop the push pins out, do not go go crazy here as you will break the door panel handle retainers. Lift up on the panel, you will see a metal bracket that slides into two black plastic retainers if you are looking through the power window switch hole. Disconnect speaker wires Once panel is off, push in on the metal spring clips holding the black plastic boxes and slide off, re-attach to metal bracket on door panel(makes install easier) Install is reverse Hope this helps I just popped my Mom's off yesterday. Basically just pry it off enough to get a finger hold and then pull HARD. There were no screws or anything to take out first, it just pops off. They were little green (I think) plastic ribbed pins that held it on, but were very stiff. You pop those loose around all sides and then pull up and out. When you get to the point you think you will break something, pull even harder and it will pop loose. This was for the rear doors, but I'm sure the fronts are similar.
the battery in under the rear seat all you do is left on the front of the bottom part of the seat and BING BOUTA BOOM theres the battery, just undo the mount, and untightin th…e battery terminals and get ER DONE Not so FAST! This car requires a VENTED BATTERY. This vents the battery gases out the bottom of the vehicle. A conventional battery's out-gassing to the interior of the car would be extremely dangerous, and would eventually ruin the interior of the car.
They put the battery under the rear seat for a number of reason's 1 if it has air ride or side curtain air bags it requiers another fuse panel wich you will find across from i…t on the drivers side and that box needs raw power all the time so insted of them putting it (the fuse box ) on the firewall they utilized the space in the back seat plus its less wireing for that box apposesed to 1 long primary wire for the starter That is the main battery as there is not one under the hood.
This works everytime I would call your local Buick dealership. Ask for the service department. Be straightforward and tell them that you need the radio co…de for a 97 Lesabre have the VIN # on hand and they should give you the code. Some dealerships will only release these over the phone to other dealers so you might want to tell a little white lie that you work for another dealership.
On the back seat in order to lift it off to get to your battery all you have to do is pop the seat off. Get your hands under the seat from the sides and lift upward the back s…eat will pop. Make sure you do this on both sides.
I have a shimmy or small vibration while driving the interstate on my 1994 buick lesabre - if i was to check the front and rear bearings - how would i do that and what w…ould i look for
Answer It depends on if it won't "crank" or wont't "start" if it worn't crank make sure your battery terminals are clean and tight if it still won't crank check …the wiring if it looks ok suspect the starter. if it won't start it could be a fuel pump fouled spark plugs faulty ignition module faulty crank sensor or out of time. hope this helps.
Open the hood, its on the passenger side in the front of the engine compartment.************************ no it isnt , it is located under the back seat..just pull up on the fr…ont of the back seat and there it is
Lift up on the front of the rear seat; give it a bit of a quick jerk and then lift up, much like a hood or trunk. You can then slide it forward and tilt against the back… seats to access the battery. Buckle seat belts prior to reinstalling seat to avoid headaches in lining up the buckles, etc.
Disconnect the cable from the LeSabre battery. Follow the route of the cable and disconnect the other end. Pull the cable out, then fit the new cable in the same direction…. Connect the non battery end, then connect to the battery.
For what purpose? The negative terminal is on the battery located under the rear seat cushion. If you are trying to jump start the vehicle, there is a positive terminal …at the back of the fuse box located at the front of the right (passenger's side) inner fender. I have used any good ground (engine bolt, etc.) with this combination for 12-volt power needs under the hood. If you are disconnecting or removing the battery, it's best to use the rear seat location.
In Buick Regal
first let the seat down, there are bolts on the side of the rear deck remove and deck lid should come up
