Try the following: 1) Run a virus scan to locate the file(s) that were not deleted during the scan 2) Write the file name as shown in the scan; it may end with .dll 3) Go to start, search file or folder, and search for the file name indicated from the scan. 4) Once located, right click and rename it to something like "virus" 5) Right click the new name and delete the file

    • If more than one file is shown as undeletable, you must go through this procedure for each file.

How can you tell your computer has a virus?

Look for suspicious activity and popups such as " Buy this product to get rid of viruses". Viruses also cause strange activity, deleted files, other strange behavior. A good anti-virus program will also alert you to any virus/malware that has been detected and then deleted. Use a good anti-virus vendor to eliminate it.

Avast keeps calling system32 a virus what should you do?

If Avast is telling you that a file from system32 is a virus, this means that file could be infected with a virus. If you have the option, just delete the file as you would any other file through Avast; system32 tends to be subject to viruses more than other files, but Avast will usually take care of the virus without problem. However if Avast is telling you that all of system32 is infected -not just a number of files- then you should either seek professional help as this often needs to be delt with on a case by case basis. Or put it into the Avast chest because this will perserve the functionallity of the operating system, however this is not recomended.
