Remove the brake caliper, caliper bracket, and rotor. Remove the bolt to the strut clamp. REmove the bolt to the ball joint. Remove the entire steering knuckle and take it to a machine shop. They can press out the old bearing and press in the new one. Repair shops have special pulling tools that can do it right on the car. But that tool costs about $300. A machine shop should only charge you about $20
This is not like the later model Taurus' or possibly earlier models as well. Unlike those with the 3 bolts holding the assembly in place this one is all interference fit. You will still need to remove the tire, brake caliper, brake caliper bracket, rotor, ball joint assembly from the spindle only and cv joint. After all this is removed you will need an impact hammer with a dull chisel. From the back side use the impact hammer to push out the inner part of the bearing. After that is done you will need a pair of needle nose pliers and a couple of screw drivers to remove the lock ring around the perimeter of the outer section behind the spindle. If you have the original lock ring it will have a couple of grooves that you can stick the needle nose plier jaws into and squeeze then get a screw driver behind it and then another under it and pry one end out then just uncoil the rest of it out. At this point you will need the impact hammer to push the outer section out through the back. Clean all surfaces and put the new outer section in place. Use a seal driver to drive it into place. Replace the lock ring. Install the inner part using a seal drive to drive into place. Reinstall the cv joint, ball joint, rotor, brake caliper bracket, brake pads, caliper and the tire.
