A solid axel swap to improve your stock junk set up:
Remove entire front cross member holding your A arms and everything connected to it, shocks, steering, torsion bars, brake lines and drive shaft. Clean the frame up. Center soild axel under front end where you want it probably the same position for the stock driveshaft. Find common place to measure for the leaf spring mount to be attached. (bolted or welded) Now mount the shackle bracket. Bolt every thing up that you can should be everything but steering, you will need some new components for this to work. Your local parts store should have what you need, plus the front axel donor vehicle steering should work with some modification. Check all bolts before road test and admire your truck with a 100% improvement to the front end.
The axel SHAFT replacement:
Remove wheel and the axel nut in the middle of hub then the brake caliper then the front hub 3 bolts on the back side. Use a 3 pound hammer tap the hub and brake rotor be gentle especialy on the rotor. After all this is remove unbolt the shaft from differental install new one the replace all parts AND BOLTS CHECK THEM TWICE. When finished do a road test and listen for abnormal sounds. If perfect congratulate yourself for saving hundreds by doing it your self.
