How do you say goodbye to someone you care about?

I met my sister, the other day... well she's not my real sister, we both live on diff. continents, i live in the U.S, she lives in South America... and tomorrow her dad and her, go back home... and i asked her why does saying goodbye have to be so painful, she said "wanna know the best thing about say goodbye". "you always know, that sometime in life. there will always be ANOTHER hello. :)"

OK.. it is so hard to say goodbye, you know you are not right for each other but your mind plays tricks on you like "what if hell change" or what might it be like if we were still together believe me you'll still think of them and the memories but when you move on you'll realize it was best and just say GOOD BYE!!!!!!

you need to say see you soon if they are leaving for good and get there mobile and or home number and address so that you can call,text or you can send them a letter in the mail and if they have an e.mail address try and get that to so that you can send them e.mails.if they are going on a holiday just say goodbye and cry.they'll be back before you know it.if you mean say goodbye as in end the friendship...ooh that's a tough one im in the same situation. but i would say just try to sort things out first otherwise tell them its not working and this is what they are doing wrong. good luck

if youre ending a friendship.......just talk about it. people change. it's gonna suck more if they're the one who's changed because it'll leave you feeling very empty. but there's really nothing you can do about it. So keep your head held high and smile like you mean it even if you feel like crying. tears make things more painful.

it depends. let them down gentally..never over the phone -this is harsh. maybe the best way is to just hold their hands and look them in the eyes and tell them its just not working out and you're really sorry, and tell them not to be sad, then slowly walk away, look back once and keep on walking babe.
