Camphor is a volatile solid i.e. its vapour pressure becomes equal to the atmospheric pressure much below the melting point. But, common salt is non-volatile. Hence, camphor may be very easily separated from common salt by a physical process, SUBLIMATION!
props to Yahoo answers
v can separate camphor and salt by the method of sublimation by dis method camphor sublime easily and faster .......thus salt and camphor separate
Light it on fire and run like hell. The sand doesnt like the heat and will follow your foot steps
You can seperate camphor from salt by HEATING
one way to separate powdered camphor from common salt is to use sublimation. Since camphor is a volatile substance and common salt is not, it is easily separated by this process.
Camphor is extracted with acetone.
Sodium chloride is dissolved in water and after filtration the solution is heated to eliminate water.
Sand remain as a residue.
by heating
Hover a magnet over the mixture. The iron filings will be attracted to it.A mixture of sand and camphor will be left. Then, separate the mixture of sand and camphor by using sublimation.
by the process of SUBLIMATION.....
we separate it by sublimation. we put the mixture in a funnel and we heat it. the camphor evaporates in gaseous form leaving sand behind
sublimation of camphor
no
Heat mildy. camphor will sublime, collect it separately, cool to get back solid camphor.
Iron is extracted with a magnet.Salt is soluble in water. After filtration camphor remain on the filter.
Iron is separated with a (electro)magnet.Camphor is extracted with acetone.
Iron is separated with a magnet.Camphor is extracted with acetone.
Hover a magnet over the mixture. The iron filings will be attracted to it.A mixture of sand and camphor will be left. Then, separate the mixture of sand and camphor by using sublimation.
Camphor will sublime when heated mildly (sugar will not). Heat the mixture mildly, collect the sublimate separately, cool the sublimate to get camphor.
Sublimation of camphor occur faster by heating and sand remain.
by the process of SUBLIMATION.....
by using a bar magnet, because iron fillings are magnetic and hence it gets attracted to that bar magnet
Sodium chloride is NaCl, an inorganic salt. Camphor is C10H16O, an organic compound, a terpenoid..
By sublimating the camphor
Sublimation
