How do you stop the baby kicking so much when you are 36 weeks pregnant. It hurts?

Sorry, but not really. You may have noticed things that the baby picks up on and starts kicking. If you have, I would just avoid things like that. Some babies respond to loud music, the mothers voice etc. Some babies also kick if your heart beat goes up and/or stressed. So just hang in there and relax, you don't have much further to go!
