If the father is still in the cage he should be separated. Male adult hamsters have been known to seriously injure young hamsters. The mother will do all the work taking care of the baby. Just make sure she has a constant supply of fresh water, dry bedding, and fresh food. You may also put a couple small strips of flannel or soft cotton fabric in the cage for her to line the nesting area with. Don't put it directly in with the babies. She will put it where she wants it herself. Other than that just keep the cage in a quiet area and let her do her thing. When the baby gets a little bigger, you will be able to care for it just like you do the adults.
I have 1 dwarf hamster. They are very cute but feisty. They sometimes bite but it doesn't hurt that much. You need to clean their cage every week and play with them every night. You can usually buy a Hamster Run Around ball at Petco for about $10. My hamster is 3 now and she is loosing hair on some parts of her body like by her ears and by her hips. It sounds weird but trust me, all you need to do is just keep playing with them and care for her till she passes. My other hamster died from me not playing with it enough. For now, just make sure you keep it away from other animals. (hamsters do seem to fight sometimes)
Some old hamsters tend to be more friendly, but closely to death, can get more timid and scared. Be extra careful with them and DO NOT put them in a cage with another hamster. Don't make loud noises, and try to get a cage that doesn't have see through walls becasue it stresses them out to see lots of moving oblects. Don't change their diet, and especially don't give the many new types or brands of food, for this can upset their stomachs, and cause them to have loose stools.
first you need to get them a cage and get them food water
The mom will take care of it until its about 4 weeks old then you can take care of it.
Well if you take away all of her babies then yes she will feel some lonesome and it may cause her to wine, scratch, runny nose. But if you leave at least one baby hamster with her she will not be upset and none of those symtyms above will happen. So i recomend you sell all of them(exept one.)and give the one you have not sold to the mother hamster and take care of her. p.s. you will not have to take care of the baby as much as you take care of the mother because the mother will take care of the baby but do feed her and love her as the mother hamster does. I HOPE I HELPED!!!(: MERRY CHRISTMAS!
it can take care on its own but say if its a baby you will obviously have a mum or dad to take good care of the baby
Hamster do not have a long life spand maybe 1 to 3 years if you take really good care of them.
about six weeks.
Every animal is an individual and the baby rearing is instinct. The chances are good the little one will take care of its own young.
If the baby hamster was abandoned by its mother, its probably not healthy.
