Disconnect the negative battery cable and drain the engine coolant.

There isn't a rear heater core in a regular sized tahoe. Only rear ones in Yukon xl and suburban. Tahoes have one in the front passenger side.
The front heater core is located behind the dash on the passengers side and heats up the front section and the rear heater core is located in the rear located behind the passengers side rear panel and it heats up the rear section..........

There would only be a rear heater core if there was a rear heater, which I don't believe was an option.
I have the same problem with my 93 Chevy suburban also, and I found that the rear has a separate heater core located behind the rear right wheel well. From what I understand you have to locate it, and test it, and then flush it if the hoses are clogged.
If 1993 suburban rear ac not cold how can check the expansion valve?
The front heater core is inside the front hvac housing, under the dash. The rear heater core is inside the rear hvac housing, behind the interior panel on the passenger side rear.
Front heater core is in the dash, the rear heater core is all the way in the back of the vehicle. If you have steam coming out of the dash vents, the front HC is leaking. If you have steam coming out of the rear heater vents, then the rear core is leaking.
