I read on the internet that a buffered saline solution cures pinkeye (I tried it, and it does). And I was wondering if it would help a stye also. I took the cap off a small bottle of mouthwash (clean of course), filled it halfway with saline solution and let my eye sit in the solution about 3 times before I went to bed. Immediately the stye started to drain and was almost gone by the next morning.

* Sometimes you can put a warm herbal tea bag on your eye.

. How to tell if it is a stye

Well a sty shouldent bug you to much you will see a light pink ovaly bump forming on the top or lower lid.

Most sty's start off as clear little bumps on the lower and upper eyelid that often pinch as you blink if you dont compress it with heat soon bacteria will continue to make it larger. The Sty is basically a pimple on the eye caused by sweaty eyes dirty hands touching the eye and lack of washing eye makeup off. They can take up to months to go away without treatment.

.Sty's arent a serious medical conditon the doctor will prescirbe creams and eye droplits to help and suggest hot compress other wise they dont take it as a serious issue.

How do i get rid of it?

.DONT stab it i know its tempting but it will hurt and cause problems of the eyelid. There are a few ways but everyones bodies are diffrenet but here are some suggestions.

.Wash with Jhonsans baby soap 4 times a day

.Visine or Sty away eye drops (only relieve redness but might drain them)

. Sty away cream you apply

.Tea bags (I know but they worked) heated and sits on eyes

.Hot cloth or cotton ball compressed on eyes 30 sec. (repeteatly)

Sytoms with Sty's

Most of the times when a sty is going away or supposling popping .. It is coming to a head. Witch means its draining goo and gush from it. You will know because a long stip of goo will form the edge of your eyelid you will blink and rub and it will burn some. But make sure you skip a night two over doing the sty or putting too much eye drops with irrate it. Dont make the water really hot. Try 49 seconds and sqeeze the compress palot before use . In the mean time cover with eye makeup and powder DONT TOUCH THEM and forget they where there.

How to prevent sty's?

. Wash makeup off with hot water and baby soap (baby oil or makeup remover)

.Wash hands good with soap and water before rubbing or contacting eyes with hands

. DONT share eyeliner,mascara, or any eyemake up from someone who as preveouisly or has a sty (trust me)

. When shower scrub eyes

A sty occurs when an oil gland on he eyelid gets infected. It will result in a bump that looks like a pimple. A sty can be treated by applying a very warm compress to the area for 10 to 15 minutes several times a day. This will help to open the sty so it can drain and heal.

One treatment for an eye stye is to hold a warm wet washcloth on the stye. Do this a 4 to 5 times a day. This will help the stye to drain and heal. If the stye doesn't go away on it's own or spreads, antibiotics may be the treatment needed.

Wash your hands with soap and water before and after touching the eye area. 2 Soak a clean washcloth in warm or hot water.

I usually put a cold teabag on it or boil a kettle and put a bit of water in a bowl then put some cotton wool in the bowl and put it on your stye. Hope this helps :)
