Some camera cards have a small slider that can be set to protect the card from being written to or erased. Also, some cameras have a function to protect an image from being erased. Check your camera's setup options to see if that feature is available.

Try installing it back into the camera and using the camera menu, find the unlock function.
Take out the memory stick from the camera and in the back of the stick you will see a tiny lock slide on it. Just unlock it.
You just have to press it in gently, and the memory card will pop out a bit. Just enough to pull it out.
