Your question presupposes that you have subscribed to cable internet service, and that the provider has run a cable to your home. It also presupposes that you have a cable modem. If these suppositions are correct, you just have to run coax between the cable jack on the wall and the cable modem. Then you need to connect the modem to your computer via USB, FireWire, or whatever interface your modem and computer have in common. FriPilot
When you get your cable modem, it should come with a CD in which you can install the drivers(Software of the modem) to you computer using a USB cable. After its complete you should be able to access the internet without using the Ethernet cable
ethernet cable
yes..........always straight cable use two dissimilar devices.........
Purchase an ethernet cable, either cat5 or cat6 long enough to run from the back of your PS3 to the Modem. If your modem has something already plugged into the ethernet, you need to unplug it and plug in the PS3. If you want to be able to use both without having to switch the plugs you need to purchase a router that you connect to the modem and then connect everything to the router.
Usually broadband internet connections are either cable (RG6) or Digital Service Line from the phone company. To interface with their networks, you need a modem. Your laptop will connect to the modem in one of two ways; a Ethernet/LAN cable (Cat 5), or a Universal Serial Bus cable. Many computers of even a few years ago did not come standard with a network (Ethernet/LAN) card, and installing one in a laptop could be spendy. Almost all computers after about 1995 have a USB port, so that can be used to connect to the modem. most laptops come with ethernet ports nowdays...if your computer doesnt have that you can always use something like a router that has usb outputs...right now, my computer is upstairs using a linksys wireless-g usb network adapter...the router is in the basement and is about the size of a modem and the receiver on my computer is about the size of a credit card with the thickness of a cell phone.
no u must use an ethernet cable or wireless internet For most people who do not have a wireless connection in their home they must also purchase at least a router to allow a connection between the cable modem and the PS3. An ethernet cable allows a wired connection between the PS3 and the router and if running a cable is a problem you need to purchase a wireless router. Although I purchased a wireless router I found that the wired connection worked better and the wireless router also had four wired connection spots on the back.
A router is only to distribute a source of digital data among several end users. It cannot increase connectivity speed. For home use, the most likely use is to connect several computers to an Internet connection, whether that be dial-up, DSL or cable.
You can use a null-modem cable; alternately, you can use a USB or FireWire cable.
It is highly unlikely that the PS3's system software supports your USB cable modem. If at all possible, use an Ethernet cable instead.
1. Dial-up - You use a dial-up modem in your computer to connect to the internet over a phone line. 2. Ethernet - You connect to a cable / DSL modem with an Ethernet cable, either directly to the modem or through a router. 3. Wi-fi - You connect to a cable / DSL modem with a wireless card to a router, which is connected to the modem. 4. USB - you connect to a cable / DSL modem directly with a USB cable. 5. 3G - A form of wireless internet that communicates using cellphone towers.
Purchase the PDA net application for android, use the USB cable to connect to the PC for fastest speed - can also use Bluetooth but it is slower.
iPads cannot use USB modems.
Get a USB Direct Connect Cable, it is a USB cable that has a special crossover and more to it. This makes the USB cable act like an old NULL Modem cable from the early days. You then plug it into the USB ports on each computer install the software drivers and then set up file sharing and whatever else it has you do to make it network and your good to go.Do Not use a regular USB cable, you will fry things...
No. The PS3 can only have a wired connection with an ethernet cable. The only other connection that is possible is WiFi. The PS3 can only connect to the internet with WiFi or ethernet cable no other type connection is possible. You can not use the HDMI or USB port to connect the PS3 to the internet. I do not believe a router can be connected to the internet cable without a modem or that you can have cable internet without a modem
It is $%&*()@&(%&(*&#!()%
Use a DSL modem....
USB stands for Universal Serial Bus... If you meant to ask if you can use your USB port to somehow connect to the internet, then yes. You can get a USB wireless (Wifi) adapter if you have a wireless network (or wireless router, connect to a high-speed internet connection like Cable, DSL, etc...) If you do not have, or don't want a wireless network but would still like to connect to the internet through Ethernet, but don't have an Ethernet network card on your computer, you can use a USB Ethernet adapter.
You will need a mini usb cable
Use a male to male usb hookup
