The cam shaft sensor consists of a fixed magnet and an integrated circuit that amplifies the signal from it. It uses the Hall Effect to send a square signal to the ecu or ignition module telling it at what speed the camshaft is rotating. In some sensors the signal is actually a ground signal. The camshaft will have a disc mounted on it that has small evenly spaced lowered segments and raised segments on it with the sensor mounted very close to it. As these pass by the magnet in the sensor the magnetic field fluctuates. One raised segment will have larger lowered segments on either side usually timed with TDC of the 1st cylinder.
The sensor on the CAM SHAFT!
The cam sensor is in the distributor.
CMP= Cam Shaft Position Sensor.
The cam sensor is inside the distributor.
no
The cam sensor is inside the distributor.
were is the cam shaft sensor
P0340 is a failure in the cam shaft sensor circuit. That can prevent the engine from running.P0340 is a failure in the cam shaft sensor circuit. That can prevent the engine from running.
I would like to know where the cam sensor is on a 1999 pathfinder and is there one or they calling it a crank shaft sensor The cam shaft position sensor is located in the distributor.
no there is not
The cam sensor is inside the distributor.
The cam shaft sensor is located behind the water pump pulley. One bolt that holds it in place.
