Think of electricity as water in a pipe. The larger the pipe the more water can flow thru. That is current = volume = amperage = amount of heat. Voltage can be compared to pressure in a pipe. That is drive/force. Most welding machines allow you to control the amperage but not the voltage.
a comparison of the A.C. and D.C. arc welding will give you a clear idea about the type of current that can be used.
1 D.C. equipments for welding are 2 to 3 times higher than A.C. welding equipments
2 more suitable for non-ferrous metals than the A.C. welding.
3 cheaper electrodes and almost all types of electrodes can be used in D.C. welding.
4 high power consumption per Kg of deposited metal, welding efficiency low
5 safer as low no load voltage is required.

1 cheaper than D.C. arc welding.
2 not all kind of electrodes can be used.
3 high welding efficiency low power consumption per Kg of deposited metal.
4 dangerous as high no load voltage is required.
The current flows through the electrode and to the clamp. That's how it flows in MIG, stick, flux cored. On Tig, the electricity flows through the electrode also except that now that's the only function of it, the rod is held in your hand and electrode in the other.
I layman's terms Current is flow like water in a stream. Voltage is force, drive, power that pushes the current. Amperage is volume or amount of flow. Better described as in water in a hose. The higher the pressure the more the Voltage. The bigger the hose the more the Amperage. Both have flow.
For 2mm with 1.6mm MS sheet welding what is current, voltge & wire speed
welding current decides the electrode burn off rate, depth of fustion, geometry of weldments. welding voltage decides shape of fusion zone and weld reinforcement.
depending on Head dia of the valve we have to set the Rotation of the valve, Stellite flow and Current
It depends on the resistance to the current flow
Stopped-flow accessory
TW = thermite welding, a welding process that requires no external source of heat or current.

The large current flow used to weld, can overload the electronics on the vehicle.

Regulating the medium of welding according to the needs
A welding transformer uses the alternating current supplied to the welding shop at a high voltage to produce the low voltage welding power
