In general society accepts marriage as an integral part of a relationship, that is far lasting than just friendship. Though a couple should be the best of friends after marriage, their union should seal that friendship. There will always be some movement going around that will advocate that marriage is outdated. That a couple should not be permanently tied to each other by some ministerial mumbo jumbo and a licence. Fortunately marriage is still the accepted arrangement by most couples who wish to seal their love by offering vows to each other. To be recognised by law that they are husband and wife, and that no other man nor woman has any moral claim on them.
