The nasal cavity is filled with hairs, which help filter the atmospheric air as you inhale. After air passes through the nostrils it is pulled through the nasal concha, which are folds of tissues that secrete mucus (snot). The mucus also traps bacteria.
respiratory system and immune system
The mucus (bogies and flem) in the bottom of your throat collects all of the dust and bateria to stop it entering your system, the cilia are ting hair which take all the unwanted mucus to your nose and back of throat. So basically to stop bacteria causing disease.
One way the body keeps microbes from entering the body is by the skin, the skin is considered a barrier. That is why when a person gets an injury that breaks the skin the first layer of defence is considered broken. Also the hair and mucous mucus in a persons nose prevent microbes from entering by trapping them . ^ Thats all a lie. This is not a lie at all. It is a very truthful and precise answer, I should know; I am a doctor!!
it gets rid of moisture and bacteria need moisture to grow
well mucus and hairs in one. when we breath in through our nose the epithiliated cells and mucus trap any pathagons that are in our nasal passages. then when we blow our noses the "snot" contains the pathagons and then we carry on :)
Boogers are usually harmless and just a mixture of mucus, dirt, bacteria, and other particles. However, excessive nose-picking can lead to nosebleeds, infections, or irritation of the nasal passages. It's best to avoid eating them as it can introduce bacteria into your system.
I'd assume your skin

it is called Nosteralitis. It is when your nose grows quicker than the rest of your body. There is no cure or operation to stop this process unfortunately.
Stop wiping your nose with your hand/wrist. Use tissue. When you touch your face you spread bacteria on your face, causing zits/pimples.
The job of cilia is to line all along air passages such as, lungs and the nose ect. And is designed to stop dust and bacteria. Also cilia can be damaged or destroyed if are a heavy smoker.
their are small hairs in your nose that catch pollens etc... that is why most health professionals promote breathing through your nose instead of you mouth because your mouth has no such defenses.
to keep body tempiture normal to stop bad bacteria from getting in
