8-10 years depending on how many jobs are involved. Normally I would look at the types of jobs listed and evaulate them based on the job I am interviewing for, then see if I need to go back further. Most times I don't.

I haven't seen a history text book in many years, so my information goes only as far as I can remember.
That depends on how far back you want to go. A difference engine was considered as far back as 1786. Babbage create his first one in 1822.
