The territories of culture are: local, national and global culture. Local culture are those practiced by a certain group of people in the community. National culture, on the other hand, transcends local culture. Example, in the Philippines, the common thing is their culture as Filipinos, no matter the variation of their local culture. Global culture is the dominant belief and norms practiced and accepted globally.
The predominant culture in the UAE is Islamic, as such the rules, regulations (Sharia) and cultural beliefs are upheld. Traditions and local cultural practices include: fishing, falconry, pearl diving as well as the farming of camel and dates. All these pre-date the exploitation of natural gas and oil deposits of the region, but are still highly regarded as traditional activities.
West African folktales became part of the culture in the Americas through the transatlantic slave trade, which led to the forced migration of Africans to the Americas. Enslaved Africans brought their traditions, including folktales, with them and passed them down through generations. These tales often blended with local folk traditions, resulting in a rich tapestry of storytelling in the Americas that continues to influence culture today.
