If you are personally a victim of domestic violence, the best solution is to get away from whomever is being violent toward you; just leave. It is sometimes possible to reform people and to get them to behave better, but that is rare. Violently inclined people will in most cases continue to be violent, no matter what promises they may make. If your concern is of a more theoretical nature, as to whether the entire phenomenon of domestic violence can be ended everywhere in the world, well, that would require extremely large changes. Since it is possible for the human race to become extinct, it is also possible to end domestic violence.

∙ 14y agoIt can't, people are violent by nature. Anger is something we all have, plain as that. The only way domestic violence could be prevented is to take feelings out of a human. People will get angry, (some more than others), and this is what makes domestic violence occur. It's not something you can simply stop, it will be here no matter what.

One way to do this is to call the national domestic violence hotline at 1-800-650-6522 they can refer you to help in your area. Some things you can do in advance of leaving are to have a bag packed and stored in a safe place where the perpetrator will not find it. You will need to include: clothes both for you and your children, insurance cards, picture ID, Extra set of car keys, title for car if you can legally take it with you, birth certificates, social security cards, checking or savings information, money, credit or debit cards. The first step is to get away with your life. Don't try to take things if it will put you or the children in harms way.
