You must obtain a divorce through the courts. No amount of separation will ever constitute a legal divorce.
Separated? -- NO. Divorced? -- Depends. Depends if it's a 'scriptural' divorce or not. And then the 'scriptural' divorce needs to be legally handled; before any other dating or courtship can resume .
No. You cannot go about marrying this new person without being tried for bigamy.
If you are legally separated you are still legally married.
no non nein
Technically yes. It is illegal to be married to two people (that is bigamy). And the fact that you have been legally separated, although a distinct legal status, means that you are STILL MARRIED. You are able to get engaged (because you are technically single) but you should be aware that being separated is not being divorced.
A married couple would not be able to sue each other for child support if not separated or divorced. A judge would have no reason to sign an order for child support on these grounds.
Once married, you remain so until you die or are legally separated (divorced). Just being separate (apart) is not enough to be "unmarried",
water is being separated
As it sounds like you already now, it does not matter how long you are separated from your spouse you need to file for divorce in order to be divorced. That being said, after being separated for so long, some elements of the divorce will be easier (the financial aspect, the fact that you both want to get divorced) but if yours is a situation that has complicated finances, children, or alimony then it could still take some time.
Legal Separation and Divorce are two different entities. The amount of time that you are legally separated from your spouse does not necessarily affect the divorce proceeding in the sense that you are not divorced after a certain amount of time being separated but it can help with the separation of assets. By this I mean that during the time you are legally separated that is when the economic community ends.
some states require you to be separated for a period of time before you can file for divorce, and some dont require any certain length of time, but REGARDLESS you have to go through divorce proceedings to be divorced. Get a lawyer!
If you are speaking of the English Protestants that separated from the English Church and held more closely to Scripture they were considered Christian.Other groups using the name Puritan (non religious) would not be considered Christian.
